INTERESTED TO KNOW HOW WE MAKE RESPOSIBLE BREEDING DECISIONS?

  1. DNA Testing and Health Screening: Our dogs have undergone DNA genetic testing for hereditary conditions common in Dachshunds, such as intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), eye issues, and certain genetic disorders. They have clear health histories. Additional health checks are done soon prior to breeding to ensure they are in top condition for breeding and beyond.

  2. Temperament Assessment: Temperament is a crucial aspect and we breed for traits like friendliness, sociability, confidence, and trainability. Our Miniature Dachshunds have stable, well-rounded temperaments are chosen as breeding partners to promote desirable personality traits in the offspring.

  3. Conformation Evaluation: Miniature Dachshunds must meet breed standards in terms of conformation, including body proportions, coat type, color, and overall structure. We are consistently aiming to produce puppies that adhere to breed specifications.

  4. Genetic Diversity: Maintaining genetic diversity is crucial to prevent inbreeding and associated health problems. We have selected our dogs with diverse genetic backgrounds while ensuring compatibility in terms of health, temperament, and conformation goals. Our dogs have been imported to New Zealand to ensure the bloodlines that we offer are unique and exclusive.

  5. Breeding Goals and Improvement: we carefully match breeding partners based on our goals, aiming to produce healthy, well-balanced puppies that represent the best qualities of the Miniature Dachshund breed.

  6. Ethical Considerations: we prioritise the welfare and well-being of our dogs and the breed as a whole. We adhere to ethical breeding practices, including proper care, socialisation, and lifelong support for the puppies we produce.
